Root stock for apple tree #889594

Asked November 09, 2024, 8:46 PM EST

I have a much beloved apple tree in my urban orchard, which has now split down the trunk. I don't know which variety it is. We use it mostly for cider. I'd like to graft a branch to root stock to plant a new tree just like it. Do you know where can a find suitable semi-dwarf root stock? I'd only need maybe five pieces.

Thank you for your question, Bart.  We are not permitted to recommend specific commercial outlets, but you should be able to find some from a commercial nursery by searching for "apple root stock Oregon".  Good luck!
