Hello,
Are there any precautions to take when applying anti-desiccant (Wilt Stop) to Boxwood shrubs? I have heard that it could cause plant cells to burst if they freeze too quickly before moisture is taken up in the root system before extreme cold sets in. What might be the best time/temperature to apply the Wilt Stop to boxwood shrubs?

Studies have shown there is no benefit to using these type of products. Maintaining healthy shrubs throughout the year is the best method to support them during the winter months. Continue to water the shrubs until the ground freezes, mulch well and wrap to protect from sun and wind. Below are two articles that give details about caring for shrubs.
