Watering Carmel creeper plants #889459

Asked November 06, 2024, 7:31 PM EST

I have received three different ways to water my Carmel creeper plants. First I was told that the only way to water was by soaker hose. Then I was told to water by hand. I wanted to do a drip system, but was told not to do that because it would cause root rot. My gardener also said to do a drip system. Would appreciate a response. Additionally it would be on a sprinkler system so how long to water and what size of emitter. The plants are on a hill and the purpose is to have them grow to prevent erosion. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi Ron.  Below is a link on how to contact the San Diego County Extension Master Gardener hotline.  They will be able to give you advice on your watering question.  That is not a plant that will grow in our cold conditions.
