I killed a spotted lantern fly in my yard on 11/4/2024.

It is worth mentioning (for future reference if/when you see more) that we do not recommend any pesticide applications or home remedies for them. They are expected to be a nuisance-type pest for a time, and while they may feed on other plants/trees, they are not found to be hurting them other than seedling black walnuts and grapes- and commercial growers are dealing with them well.
Their populations in areas where they first arrived in large numbers a few years ago are not at those levels any longer as our insects, birds and mammals are finding them tasty.
