I’m trying to find out the specific name/type of clematis this is. I planted it over 10 years ago. I’d like to know the class of clematis that it belongs in. Group one? group 2 ?or group 3 ?I hope can identify the name of this clematis by the pictures included in this email. I’d like to know what group it belongs to.

Hello John
If your vine is blooming a second time in late summer after it had an earlier bloom it is likely group2.

We won’t be able to accurately identify the cultivar. I can give you a couple possibilities.

If you are not sure, then prune just one half the vines, leaving the other half. Then, observe how they bloom next season. That way you will have left some vines to bloom for sure( the unpruned ones).
Here is a short discussion of pruning and groups.
