The top half of the tree isn’t growing any leaves. Please see the attached photo.
We planted it two years ago.
What can I do? Should the top half be trimmed?

The short answer is, yes - if the tops of the branches are dead, they should be pruned off. If those upper sections have appeared that way since last winter and never leafed out all growing season, then they are dead can be trimmed. However, if the leaves just dropped for some reason in later summer, the stems could still be alive. You can check and see if they snap and break.
