Lawn Problem #886889

Asked October 01, 2024, 5:09 PM EDT

We are two families living next door to each other. In both cases, our lawns appear to be affected by the same problem. The grass is turning brownish white in patches, and the problem is spreading. Is it possible to take a sample in to the extension office. We'd be grateful for help in identifying and correcting the problem. Our local landscapers have tried, but failed, to help. Thank you.

Unfortunately, local County Extension offices are not staffed to perform diagnostic testing but OSU's C. Wayne Ellett Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic does.

Following is a link to the Buckeye Yard and Garden Line with info about the Diagnostic Clinic: https://bygl.osu.edu/index.php/node/2303

Following is a link to the section of the Diagnostic Clinic that deals with Turfgrass issues: https://ppdc.osu.edu/submit-sample/turfgrass

And attached is a form that is used to submit samples.
