Trying to report spotted lanternfly #885617

How do you report to MD without a photo? We found at least 10 adults today on vines growing on tulip popular trees and wanted to report them to the City of Rockville (which right now on their website has a posting that says there aren't any in Rockville) but at the end of the MD form a photo is required?
Montgomery County Maryland
Expert Response
The Maryland Department of Agriculture requires a photo (presumably to verify the correct insect ID, since mistaken identity has been common with lanternfly) for the submission of a sighting report, and this is not something Extension can change, as we are not part of the MDA. We're not sure why the City of Rockville has specified that Spotted Lanternfly is not present, since it is confirmed to be widespread in Montgomery County (see the MDA map on the linked page). There are also records from around the state displayed on the Maryland Biodiversity Project page for lanternfly, where clicking on the "view quad details" link below their county-level distribution map will show a more detailed patchwork of how many observations they have recorded from various areas.
