I saw a very bright white caterpillar which was eating the leaves of a bush about an inch & half long along side the bike path on corner of Beech street and Hayes in Holland township. I don't have a picture. I have asked others but they say they have never seen it before. What could it be?

Without a picture, of course, we can only give you some of the possibilities. Here is a bulletin with a couple of the most likely white caterpillars seen in autumn.
