Shrub roses not budding since 1august #885496

Asked September 16, 2024, 6:28 PM EDT

We have 7 mature shrub roses that all budded and bloomed until about 1 August. Three bushes have not budded since that time, there is green growth and stem growth but no buds. One of the bushes has one stem growing to 6 - 7 feet. All received the same fertilizer and water care. What might be the reason.? Thank you

There are many varieties of shrub roses, with different bloom times.  You've not provided me with important information, such as the names of the varieties and whether this behavior is different from what you've seen before.  Check this earlier post for a list of reasons a shrub rose might not bloom:

These reasons include many cultural issues, such as fertilizing (too much nitrogen), sun (not enough), pruning (at the wrong time), and so forth.
