Have a huge hornet with coloration like description/photos of killer hornets caught in Summit County. Understand they are to be reported but don't know where or who. Rigor mortis set in before totally accurate measurements could be taken. Is this the correct place to report this insect?

Hello,
You can send a photo here for confirmation of your identification or you can send a photo to the Ohio department of agriculture to report an invasive species. Both would require photo proof. You will also have to submit the address where it was found. Here is the website for reporting to the department of agriculture. https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/1b36dd2cf09e4be0a79776a6104ce1dc
There have not been any confirmed reports of the non-native asian hornet in Ohio as of yet. More commonly found this time of year are Cicada Killer hornets and the European Hornet. Both are very large hornets and can be confused for the asian species.
European Hornet: https://extension.psu.edu/european-hornet
Cicada Killer wasp: https://ohioline.osu.edu/factsheet/ENT-63
You can check these websites for photos to compare to your specimen.
Feel free to respond back and I'd be happy to identify your wasp and confirm.
