Honey Bees and Bubmle Bees #885069

We have both honey bees and bumble bees in out yard which is great. However we think the honey bees have their nest in our siding. As for the bumble bees, they have their nest in a crack between our bottom front step and sidewalk. We don't want to get rid of them but what can we do about where their nests are.

Thank you for your question for Extension. If you have a confirmed bumble bee nest, your nest will disband this fall (they have annual nests) when the queen bee will nest in leaf litter. For honeybees, if they are bothersome, this publication offers information on who you can call to remove it. Since pollinators such as bumble bees and honeybees are declining, it's best to preserve their nests if possible. Here is complete information about bees (and wasps):
