Is preem safe on hardy cyclamen #883632

Asked August 31, 2024, 4:03 PM EDT

I have had cyclamen growing in my yard, in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. This year they have not begun to come up.  This last spring preem was applied to the ground, will preem kill the cyclamen?  Is preem safe to use around daffodil and Tulip bulbs?

Expert Response

Candi: It is so important to carefully read the labels of any herbicide or other pesticide you are thinking of using before actually using them. The Preen label https://www.preen.com/labels/2463795.pdf lists the plants that it can be used around. Tulips and daffodils are on the "safe" list, cyclamens are not. Labels can often be hard to read on the containers but usually can be found on line. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
