Extension does not perform one-on-one site visits (with the exception of evaluating yards for Bay-Wise certification), but you might want to see if your county Master Gardener coordinator can share information on presentations, workshops, demonstration gardens, or other local resources for learning about converting lawn to alternative plantings. You could also look into hiring (either as a consultant, or for labor help) a Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional, who has training in sustainable landscaping techniques.
