vent gleet #882929
Asked August 25, 2024, 7:06 PM EDT
I noticed today that one of my hens appears to have vent gleet. All I have in the house is Vagicort, which apparently also contains a corticosteroid (which I understand is bad for chickens) I don't drive and my husband is out of town; I am stuck at our house in the country until Friday (5 days). Besides an epsom salt bath and hopefully some probiotics or fermented beans, what can I do for her in the interim?
Thanks, Melanie

Poultrydvm.com is usually my go-to for vet advice, but this says antibiotics. If it is caused by a yeast, however, giving an antibiotic can make the problem worse.
