We have a few parkland birches and the branches have been weighed down by the frequent and heavy rains. The branches are flaring out. Will these straighten up on their own or should I try to adjust their growth back to the upright direction?

Expert Response
They will straighten up on their own if they are in full sun. It won’t hurt them to tie a loop around the branches and bring them back toward the center and in line. Keep the loop large enough to allow good air circulation. Good air circulation helps prevent fungal diseases.
