Spotted wilt virus? #871596

Asked June 04, 2024, 6:20 PM EDT

Hello, Please see attached photo of a grafted, disease-resistant San marzano tomato plant. Is this spotted wilt virus? No other plants affected. Is there a treatment? Thank you.

Expert Response

The image does appear to be TSW virus.  Here is a link with info about the disease.  No....There is nothing you can do to treat a virus.  I'd recommend you get the plant out of the field so thrips don't feed on it and spread it to your other tomatoes and Pepper plants.
