I have 3 burning bushes that are out of control for any easy trimming. Bushes are older and taking up too much space. I would like to keep but bring back much smaller. Can we even use chain saw on them to bring them back from small trees??{

Thank you for writing.
I would need a close up of a couple leaves to confirm the identity of the plant.
The burning bush has lost favor because of its aggressive growth.

It is now listed as a noxious weed in MN. https://www.mda.state.mn.us/plants-insects/minnesota-noxious-weed-list
For this reason, it should be removed, rather than pruned. It may be possible to cut them off at one foot to the ground and use a shrub root puller to get them out. Such tools are available at rental stores. Alternatively, you could cut it off close to the ground and apply round up to the stem. If the roots are not physically removed however, you should continue to monitor and repeat this process.
