Warm enough yet #865780

Asked April 24, 2024, 4:49 PM EDT

Hi~ Is it warm enough to transplant hostas, shade type plants to another shade area in my yard? We have an area that needs to be dug up and need to move these plants as soon as possible. Thank you! Deb Olson

Expert Response

Hi Deb,

This is a great time to do this. Moving hostas before the leaves unfurl will result in much less damage when you transplant. Temperatures are good for moving perennials too. Go ahead!

Ok. Good to know--very helpful! With all of this "early Spring"/very little Winter it sure is hard to know.
Thanks so much!
