Are there brands of grass seed that you recommend? I typically buy Superior grass seed from Fleet Farm because I have a large 3 acre lawn and it is less expensive than most of the name brands. I need a good amount of both shade seed and sun & shade seed and am looking for the best bang for the buck. Thank you!

I will agree with you. If Fleet Farm has what you need, they have a very good price. Sometimes cheap grass seed mixes have a lot of annual rye grass. Annual rye grass germinates quickly so it is very beneficial to stabilize the soil but being an annual it will not come back next spring. So you do want some but check the package to compare before buying.
