Bindweed - which chemical treatment do you recommend on lawns #865617

Asked April 23, 2024, 2:55 PM EDT

Hello,

We are aggressively trying to limit bindweed in our new lawn. We don't have a lot of it, but we're wondering which chemical treatments we should use when it is in or on the edges of lawn that won't also kill the grass. Any recommendations are welcome.

Expert Response

Hi Chris,

Here is a fact sheet on chemical control of bindweed in lawn areas.  Also note that part of the treatment should include a nitrogen fertilizer application that will help your grass grow stronger and faster to try and choke out any more bindweed seeds in the seed from sprouting.  Good luck!
