Pollinators for apple trees growing in the Twin Cities are almost always available because there are so many crab apple trees. There is usually a tree close enough with the right bloom time.

Norkent flowers mid May

Most crabs bloom for a longer period, so they frequently span two periods. Chestnut and Centennial are considered very good pollinators for most trees. They bloom early to mid season. Whitney is also highly recommended.
It is surprisingly difficult to find pollinator information, one would think the supplier would be more helpful since they want buyers to succeed and get apples.
