When is the right time of the year to separate hostas?

Hi Kathy,

Now’s a great time to divide hostas. Dividing them when the points are just coming out of the ground means leaves won’t get as damaged as you dig.

That said, you can divide them almost any time. They’re tough plants. Just make sure you water them.
