Expert Response

Hi,

You might find this University of Wisconsin article on Plumeria helpful in the care of your plant. It appears that the plant tolerates severe pruning, so it is your choice as to the shape that you would like for your plant. Plumeria do not usually require pruning. If you do prune, cut back to a branch junction or fork before the plant leafs out.

We are concerned that the plant appears to be outside on a deck. Ideally, Plumeria should be located where the temperature remains between 65-80°F (18-27°C) most of the time. If temperatures drop below 50°F (10°C), the plant will drop its leaves and go dormant.

Thank you for your question.
