In the past years we have had Downy mildew kill out Cucumber and Melon plants. I heard there are plants that are resistant to this mold. Where can I buy them, and the names of these varities ?

Hi Daniel, thanks for the question.

It looks like Cornell has some good information on resistant varieties. Here are a few:

Cucumbers: Brickyard, Bristol, and DMR 401

Cantaloupe Varieties: Trifecta, Edisto 47

You can find seed sources by downloading the Excel files accessed through the first link or simply doing a web search. Check out these links:

Cucumber and Cantaloupe Varieties Resistant to Downy Mildew | Cornell Vegetables

Evaluation of Cucumber Varieties Resistant to Downy Mildew, 2021 | Vegetable Pathology – Long Island Horticultural Research & Extension Center (cornell.edu)

I hope this is helpful,
