I keep hearing about grating Irish Spring soap into your garden to keep away deer. Does this work? And, does it also keep away pollinators? Does it hurt the plants?

With about any product used for deer repellants--it is sadly temporary. Deer get used to the scent. If you have a neighbor using it, it's going to be ineffective for you. You need to change up your repellents on a regular basis.
It isn't harmful that we've heard, either.
