Could you please give me the name of this pesky weed threatening my liriope and a strategy to eradicate it. Thanking you in advance for such wonderful wisdom. Mrs Ford

This looks like chickweed. It is a cool season annual and will go dormant soon as the weather heats up. Liriope is so tough too and not much can threaten it. You can rake or hand pull what you see and apply a 3-4 inch layer of mulch and it should help suppress it. If you can pull any returns before they flower and go to seed then they will eventually stop returning. It probably has gone to seed already so you will most likely see it again in the fall/next spring.
