My Harry Lauder stick was infected and is basically dead. All cuttings were bagged prior to sending to landfill. My question: I was thinking about keeping the basic skeleton in place. Will this be a problem spreading the disease?

Expert Response

We don't know how likely it is for Filbert Blight to persist in shrub wood that has been dead and drying for a while, but it would be safer to avoid the risk of spore spread (such as to native wild hazelnuts in the woods) to remove it entirely.
