Help-my backyard is a mess #864605

Asked April 15, 2024, 2:04 PM EDT

Hello, I am having trouble even knowing where to start! I have alot of creeping Charlie, some other invasive weeds, all under trees-a boxelder, 2 Norwegian spruces. I am reluctant to hire someone to just spray week killer, especially under the bees and butterflies are out of hybernation. Do you know if the companies that use environmentally friendly weed killers actually work? I can do some of the work myself but it's just over whelming me

Expert Response

Spraying the wrong herbicides under trees is not only risky for bees, it can be risky for trees as well.  Creeping Charlie is very difficult to eradicate. One of the  recommended herbicides- triclopyr  can volatilize and damage trees.  Depending on how much weed pulling you are able to do, hiring a landscape company may be a good solution.  The following websites have avenues to consider.
