Jasmine looks sick #864481

Asked April 14, 2024, 1:16 PM EDT

This is a 3 yo Jasmine that is facing N and E.  It looked healthy through the fall but is emerging from winter not looking great.   It is not dry.  I am in Lake Oswego at 50foot elevation.  Thoughts on problems?

Expert Response

Thank you for your question, Carolyn.  Your plant may be responding to the cold weather, but might also be infected with one of several bacteria or fungi.  Here are suggestions from another expert about ways to manage it:  https://ask2.extension.org/kb/faq.php?id=825025
You might want to have the leaves and soil tested for disease at the OSU Plant Clinic:  https://bpp.oregonstate.edu/how-submit-plant-materials
Good luck!
