Is there something wrong with my rosemary? #864418

Asked April 13, 2024, 6:10 PM EDT

When you first look, my rosemary looks great. It's full. It's big. Its flowering (see attached). But when trimming something near it today I noticed that there were brown and orange spots on several leaves. I looked all over, even the undersides of leaves and didn't see any evidence of bugs. Is there something wrong with it? Or maybe just winter burn? If there is something wrong, what is it and what do I do about it? Thanks

Expert Response

Hi,

Many rosemary plants are borderline hardy in our area of MD. Looking closely I see that there is new growth coming up that looks perfectly healthy, The attention grabbing damage looks more to be of environmental causation--winter burn was a likely culprit. Those leaves will drop off as the new ones grow out to replace them.
