Training for municipal staff (public works, code enforcement) #863304
Asked April 04, 2024, 9:07 AM EDT
Hello - I'm already in touch with the Master Gardener program, but I'm wondering if UMD has considered offering a certificate program for municipal staff to learn about native plants and native trees purpose, types, planting, maintenance, care, climate resilience, and equity concerns. Specifically for public works departments, code enforcement personnel, and town managers/administrators. Thank you, Lauren Rauk (councilmember Town of Brentwood)
Prince George's County Maryland
Expert Response
Hi Lauren, thanks for reaching out! We do offer a newly created Sustainable Horticulture certificate. It covers more than trees and native plants and is created for a wider audience, but it might be a good place to start!
