What kind of grass is recommended for Delaware (mostly sunny area with some shade under oak trees). Also, what is purple weed invading lawn and how to get rid of it.

Hi,
There are many purple weeds that are common in turf and ornamental systems. It is impossible for one to identify the weed without clear pictures. For shady areas, the fine fescues are great, but if there is significant sunlight then a tall fescue will make better sense.
