Sowing wildflower seed #862501
Asked March 25, 2024, 7:20 PM EDT
Hi, I love in Parker, Colorado on the front range and wondered when it is a good time to sow wildflower seeds? Do I need to to wait for the traditional past Mother's Day rule for other outdoor plants? thanks for any info you can share. I appreciate your time!

Hi Jane,
Now is a great time! Make sure that the seeds have good contact with the soil by preparing the area and raking/rolling the seed in once you have sown it.
Many wildflowers love the cooler temperatures and spring moisture--if things get dry before you see much germination, consider watering to make sure the seedlings survive.
I hope this is helpful.
Cordially,
John
