Hello Wali,

It is always hard to predict what the season will bring but I can tell you that we are adjusting our recommendations for weed, insect and nutrient management because of the warm start to the season. Some fields are very wet and not ideal for any kind of management. I have seen some tillage getting done throughout the central MI region. It is still very early in the season, so we are not recommending that farmers start planting corn or soybeans. We have a regular calls where we share those recommendations with the farmers and that program is called Virtual Breakfast. Since the only row crop that is currently planted is Wheat, the crop is looking good with a healthy amount of plants growing. Wheat planting season was wet and not ideal, so the warmer weather has helped the wheat crop catch up. I have not scouted any alfalfa or hay fields, but I would guess that plants overwintered well.
