Worms in my stanley prune #858995

Asked February 12, 2024, 1:28 PM EST

My stanley prunes have worms. I don't think it is plum curculio. I would like to know what to do. Birds, wasps and squirrels are a lesser problem. Thank you.

Expert Response

I checked the literature and by far the most common insect problem in plums is the plum curculio. In fact, I didn't find a second insect of concern.  I don't know what to tell you beyond that. I guess you could assume that it is plum curculio and manage accordingly,

If you'd like, you could reply to this and ask again and I will pass it along to another panelist.
