Oregon Giant Earthworm ID? #856256

Hello. I’m an amateur naturalist and a friend sent me a photo of what I think is an Oregon Giant Earthworm. The photo was taken 5 days ago in Deadwood, OR.

What a fantastic find, I cannot be sure what you have there is the Oregon giant earthworm; Driloleirus macelfreshi but it does look like a good candidate. I will check with some of my fellow biologists to see if they are interested in following up here.

There are it was found is very near the junction of Deadwood Creek and Elk Creek. Largely a Doug Fir dominant forest with Big Leaf Maples and Cedars along with ash, black locust, etc. Copious amounts of duff throughout the forest floor.
Naturally, as I spend much time there, I will be particularly vigilant in seeing another during our next deluge.
I will let you what happens.
