What is this bug under the ice #855727

Trying to identify this bug under the ice in northern MN lake. Appears to make a nest/home shaped like a star.

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a precise identification of this insect due to a lack of clarity in the picture. Nevertheless, I believe that this is the pupal form of a caddis fly. This insect is quite common in Itasca County. A few months ago, the larval form of this insect began to cover itself with small pieces of twigs, pebbles, and other lake material. It will overwinter in this state and emerge as an adult sometime next May. See the following for further information:
