Oak tree droppings #855671

Asked November 22, 2023, 2:45 PM EST

My oaks are dropping lots and lots of small balls that look like copper BB's, along with acorns. What are those copper explored balls? Is that indication of a potential problem?

Thanks!

Expert Response

Can you send a picture of the objects?  There are several things it could be, and I can't tell without a picture.  I need a close-up that is very sharp.  Thank you.

These are oak galls.  They are not a threat to your trees.  Here is an article on them.
