Honey Locust pod control by INJECTION???? #853803

Asked October 23, 2023, 12:57 PM EDT

I and my neighbor enjoy the shade provided by an old honey locust tree; however, no one enjoys all those pods.  The only solutions for eliminating them are the use of sprays which kill bees, are dangerous to children, or destroy metal.  WHY hasn't anyone developed an injection that would eliminate all the hazards involved with using a spray?

Hi Annie,

One way that the tree nursery industry has helped to solve this issue of dropping pods is with the development of pod-less honey locust varieties such as Skyline. The following link has more information about honey locusts and also lists off a few varieties that can be cross-checked for being fruitless -
