Roses inside #852777

Asked October 10, 2023, 1:59 PM EDT

I was given 2 roses that I don’t think are zoned for Sisters so I potted them in pots for my deck. Now it is time to bring them inside for the winter. I bought grow lights for them but I’m not sure what all I have to do. Please help! Thanks!

Thank you for your question.  Do you know what kind of roses they are?

Hi Lisa,
One is a Double Delight, but I don’t the other.
Thanks,
Pat

Hi Pat,

Thank you for the additional information.  An unheated garage would be ideal place for the potted roses to overwinter as dormant plants. Here is a link discussing how to overwinter roses with information on roses in containers:

You may find this informative as well:

Thank you for the information.
My garage is not heated or insulated so it gets very cold out there. Our house is 62-68 degrees in the winter. I am keeping the pots with the roses inside the house with 8 hours of grow lights on them, by a north facing window so they get some natural light. I am hoping this works.
