Lilacs cut back? #852723

Not really sure who did it at this point. But I think it was the great city of Two Harbors came through and "trimmed" along the power lines on my property. The apple and pear trees I get they were either close to the lines or hanging over the sidewalk but I'm afraid they murdered my lilacs. Will these grow back?

Expert Response
Your lilies should come back, although they might not be as floriferous next spring. Ordinarily, the foliage should die down naturally. This allows nutrients to be relayed to the bulb. Cutting down the foliage now will reduce these nutrients and so may result in lesser flowering next year. They should return to their usual pattern, however, the following year.
