unknown plants #851329

Asked September 26, 2023, 5:03 PM EDT

Hi-  I emailed pictures last week of several plants that we can't identify.  One was identified & I was asked to take pictures of other ones & send.

I've attached pictures-thanks for your help!

Hello Jane,
I did not see your original post; it was assigned to a different person. These appear to be pictures of the same plant. Is that correct?  It's often difficult to make a diagnosis with only cut stems from a plant and no other description such as height, color of flowers, when it blooms and so on.

From what I can see, I believe that this plant is common ragweed.
(Ambrosia artemisiifolia). I have included a link to an article on ragweed. There are many different species included in this family. Check out the article to compare the plant with what you see in your yard. The following is an articles from Cornell University Extension:

If you don't believe this is the correct diagnosis or have further questions, please contact us again.

Have a great fall!
