Can sunpatiens get aster yellows #850661

Asked September 20, 2023, 3:16 PM EDT

My sunpatiens in this bed have struggled continually throughout this season. They originally had many blooms but as time has gone on, the flowers have shrunk on most of the plants. They are greenish and very thick

Hi Rachel,

Thank you for contacting the CSU Master Gardener Help Desk concerning your Sunpatiens.

I'm sending you a link from from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Horticulture site about Aster Yellows.  It sounds like your sunpatiens may not be suffering from aster yellows. In this article is does say that impatiens are not affected by aster yellows.

Maybe a little more closer photo of your flowers might help us identify what is going on with them.
