Urban gardening #850441

Asked September 18, 2023, 7:48 PM EDT

I know it getting late but I'd like to plant some pasture grass asap. It will be for chickens next year. I would like to talk more about my options, any advice, or pointed in the right direction. Next spring I'll be running 7 garden boxes along with yellow dent corn, wheat, and soy beans patches. Sunflowers, chicken tractor, and native michigan flowers/ pollonaters bordering half my fences. In spring I will begin recording it for a dedicated to my yard YouTube channel Thanks for your time

Expert Response

So im not clear when the grass will be growing? From now till early spring?  Sadly you wont get enough to make it worth while I don’t think. I will check with Dr. Kim Cassida our pasture expert. But first tell me what attributes/qualities you want in the grass variety you do grow.
