Although we don't have data particular to that specific cultivar, the species Pennisetum alopecuroides (currently named Cenchrus purpurascens) is considered to be invasive in our region and has been found in natural areas in most MD counties. If you are wary of it spreading from seed, it would be safer to plant another species.
