Plant with berries - what is this and is it poisonous to kids/dogs? #849275

Hello, Wondering what plant this is, it grows around the perimeter of our home and fence. We have children and dogs- is this poisonous?

This is one of the nightshades. The berries are toxic. Here’s more information:

You should pull the plants and be on the watch for more. They are easily removed if you pull the stem near the ground, but the plants seed heavily and birds spread them too. I find them in my own yard every year.

You could also use a herbicide. Glyphosate will kill them (be careful, it will kill anything green) or you can buy a weed killer. If you buy a weed killer make sure “nightshade” or “solanum” is on the label as an affected plant and follow the instructions. The label is the law.
