Tiny Beads on Pyramidal Boxwood #848476

Asked September 03, 2023, 9:37 PM EDT

What are these tiny beads on my Boxwood? I treated it for leaf miners in July and August, then noticed it grew these tiny beads. The little beads are all over the bush. The bush I believe is a Green Mountain Pyramidal Boxwood 4 foot high and it is about 15-20 years old. I have the leaf miners under control, but now i am worried about these tiny balls that are all over the bush and are at the leaf nodes on the stem.

Expert Response

Those look like the leaf buds of the plant. New leaves will expand into fresh, new growth from there.
The timing of your treatment with their appearance was just coincidental.
