Crape Myrtle Seedlings #847725

Asked August 29, 2023, 7:15 AM EDT

Leaf discoloration causes? Three different seedlings shown on attached photos. I'm afraid I have been overwatering. Note recent UD soil test 571190 showed excessive phosphorus levels at 128, and K 30, Mg 43, Ca 57, pH 6.4. The seedling with the brown leaves had considerable aphid infestation and the other less so. Treated with insecticidal soap.

I don't think the soil results are problematic or caused the leaf discoloration. Overwatering could be a problem. If you want an accurate diagnosis, I would bring a sample (include affected and healthy tissue) to your county extension office so our plant diagnostic clinic can look carefully at the plants.
