Good evening. I am making a trip up to my parent's in Johnson City. I intend to divide the hostas and daylillies in their beds. What timing is best for that - late summer or early fall? Thinking of labor day weekend versus end of September.

Thank you for your inquiry. This is the perfect time of year to divide those perennials.
You can even trim back some of the foliage to get it out of your way without any harmful affects to the plants at this time of year.
